Happy Earth Day! How are you celebrating today? Or, how do you celebrate every day? Earth Day is not something that should only be celebrated one day a year. We should be grateful and celebrate the Earth every day.
We (collective “we”, me included) frequently take the Earth for granted. Each year, Earth offers us so many things – the beauty of blooming flowers and trees; soil to grow plants that sustain us; trees that provide shade and clean the air; fresh water from springs and rivers. But what do we provide to the Earth? Carbon emissions from our vehicles? Toxic waterways from ground pollution? A chemical mixture to apply on the ground that won’t sustain life below? Without the Earth, we would have nothing. We wouldn’t have the joy of being in nature or any of the many things that we draw from the Earth.
This Earth Day, and every day, be grateful for what the Earth is sharing with you. Take pleasure in what it wants to share with you. Even if it is only apple blossoms.
